EPC has yesterday finalized its acquisition of a 50% stake in EPC Servicios Peru, a joint venture that aims at the implementation of EPC’s equipment and mining technology in the Peruvian market, particularly in the field of underground mining.

The EPC groupe establishes itself in the country in association with the company IESA, a leading player in the market of public works. IESA, which is a family business created more than 60 years ago, is a leader in underground mining in Peru. EPC provides EPC Servicos Peru with its experience in the mining industry, blasting and more generally the latest implementations of explosives technology.
EPC Servicios Peru also benefits from IESA’s excellent position in the Peruvian market.

The Peruvian market offers significant potential both in the mines and the infrastructure markets.

In the long-term, the mission of the joint-venture EPC Servicios Peru is to own its own production unit if the commercial development meets the expectations of the group.

For several years EPC has been investigating various opportunities of implementation in Latin America, a key area in the explosives business. The creation of EPC Servicios Peru is the first concrete step in the implementation of this strategy.
